        General Questions
        9.  How can I get custom reports in Collectorpro?
        10.  How long has Collectorpro been around?

1.  Orders placed through our online shopping cart received during business hours are processed and shipped the same day if possible.  Orders received after normal business hours are processed the following day.

2.  To protect your security, when credit cards are used in our secure checkout, we process them manually via our credit card processor.  Once approval is obtained, your Collectorpro order is shipped.

3.  Yes, we do accept checks for orders via the phone at 972.908.3964 (USA) during normal business hours.  We will take your order and prepare the shipment while awaiting your check to arrive in the mail.

4.  If you have downloaded the evaluation version of Collectorpro from our web site, and order the "unlock" from our online shopping cart, your payment will be processed and an "unlock" file will be emailed to you with instructions on how to install the unlock file.  If you are currently a Collectorpro user and order a Collectorpro upgrade from a previous version, we will ship you a CD-ROM upon processing your payment.  All orders are shipped via US Mail unless otherwise requested.

5.  The Collectorpro CD-ROM contains an installation program that should start automatically when you install the CD-ROM in your computer's CD-ROM drive.  Also, on the back of the CD-ROM jewel case are instructions for installing Collectorpro in the event it does not start automatically.  For unlock and updates that are emailed, you can save the file attachment to your disk and then locate the file and double click on the file to start the unlock or update installation program.  Note: it is best to accept all the default options when installing Collectorpro, although you can change the installation folder and disk drive letter if desired.

6.  The actual installation process is the same as described above.  The first time you start Collectorpro a welcome screen will be displayed and you will be asked if this is a new installation or if you are upgrading from a previous version of Collectorpro.  If you are upgrading from Collectorpro 97, version 4, or version 5, you are then presented a screen that asks which version you are upgrading from and the drive letter where the previous version of Collectorpro is installed.  After you make these selections, all your data from the previous version of Collectorpro will be upgraded and moved to the newest version of Collectorpro.

7.  In our terms an upgrade is from one version of Collectorpro to a newer version.  For example, if you are going  from Collectorpro 97 to Collectorpro 7, this is considered an upgrade.  There is a nominal fee for upgrades.  Upgrades are release about every 18-24 months.

Updates are minor program changes, enhancements, new reports, and bug fixes.  These are available to all users at no charge.  Check our Support page for details about the updates and how to obtain an update.

8.  Collectorpro will run on any computer that is running Windows 95,98,ME,NT,XP, Vista, or Windows 2000.

9.  We recommend that if you want custom reports in Collectorpro, to use Crystal Report Writer from Crystal Decisions.  This will allow you to create your own report layouts and customizations.  We do not provide support for Crystal Reports and do know that it takes some computer and database knowledge for the user to obtain satisfactory results.  We can also create custom reports for Collectorpro for a fee.  Please contact our support department for additional information.

10.  Collectorpro software was invented in 1992 as a DOS program to catalog antiques and collectibles.  In 1995, Collectorpro was the first major antique and collectibles inventory program to release a Windows version.  There have been 5 major revisions since 1992, with the latest in June of 2003.  The latest version includes many features to take advantage of the Internet such as the ability to email price quotes.
