Collectorpro Appraiser Edition Support Bulletin 05-04

Title-How to Print PDF files of appraisal reports

While Collectorpro will not directly print PDF files, there is an easy way to print your appraisal reports to a PDF file.  This is useful to deliver an electronic report to your client or another appraiser.

You will need PDF printing software on your computer.  We have successfully used a product called PDF995.  There is a download available at www.pdf995.com.  Click on the Download Now button.  You will need to download the PDF995 Printer Driver and the Free Converter.  After you have downloaded each of these you are ready to print to PDF files from any application including Collectorpro.  After download you will have a new printer on your computer named PDF995.

To print a report to a PDF file you print the report the same as you always do, but select the PDF995 printer and click the Print button as shown below.

You will now be prompted for a file name.  You can enter anything you wish here and even change the folder where the PDF file will be created.  Enter the name and click the Save button to save the PDF file.

Special Note:

Collectorpro prints the appraisal report in sections.  If you wish to deliver all sections to a client you will print each section to a PDF file and then copy all those files to a CD-ROM for delivery to your client.  When you go to print to a PDF file each section may have a name like shown above.  For clarity to your end user you can change the name of each section as it is being printed.  Recommendations are:

Summary Totals by Category.pdf - For the Summary Totals Section

Object Detail.pdf - For the Object details section of the report

Glossary-Addendum.pdf - For the Glossary and Addendum report section

Having these names will make it much easier for your client to browse the CD with Windows and open the file they need to since the name is descriptive of the content of the file.
